Hillary Clinton Dresses Down Moderator Over Fashion Question

Date:

An excerpt of an interview with Hillary Clinton in Kyrgyzstan is generating major buzz over her response to a moderator’s question about  – what else – her fashion sense. Here’s the transcript of the exchange …    MODERATOR 1: OK. Which designers do you prefer?

CLINTON: What designers of clothes?

MODERATOR 1: Yes.

CLINTON: Would you ever ask a man that question? (Laughter.) (Applause.)

MODERATOR 1: Probably not. Probably not. (Applause.)Owned. The exchange, posted on Tuesday by Boston Review, has been shared thousands of times online, even though it actually took place back in 2010.Clinton’s awesome response has garnered widespread praise among women, though to be fair, 99 percent of the town hall-style interview was focused on the ever-turbulent global political and socioeconomic climate, foreign and domestic policy.Nevertheless, we wouldn’t recommend asking such trivial questions, future moderators. Have you seen the texts from Hillary Clinton? She runs the world.Chelsea Clinton in Vogue? More topical, but probably still out of bounds.David Letterman Predicts Mitt Romney Defeat Due to Snub of Late Show

David Letterman (jokingly, mostly, maybe, sort of) predicted that Mitt Romney will lose this year’s presidential election due to his snub of The Late Show.

Last week, Dave urged voters to vote against Mitt unless he came on the program. With Romney still reluctant to do so, Letterman now predicts his defeat.

Obamacare Surcharge: Denny’s Franchise to Add 5 Percent to Customers’ Bills

Bacon and eggs with a side of Obamacare? That recipe will cost extra starting in 2014.

While some businesses threaten to cut workers’ hours to avoid paying for their health care, a West Palm Beach, Fla., restaurant owner is going even further.

John Metz said he will add a 5 percent surcharge to customers’ bills to offset what he says are the costs of Obamacare, along with reducing employees’ hours.

“If I leave the prices the same, but say on the menu that there is a 5 percent surcharge for Obamacare, customers have two choices,” Metz told the Huffington Post.

“They can either pay it and tip 15-20 percent, if they feel so inclined, or reduce the amount of tip they give to the server, who is the primary beneficiary of Obamacare.”

“Although it may sound terrible, it’s the only alternative to pass the cost on to the consumer.”

Metz is the franchisor of Hurricane Grill & Wings, which has 48 locations, and owner of RREMC Restaurants, which runs 40 Denny’s and several Dairy Queen stores.

He plans to use the 5 percent surcharge in all his restaurants in 2014, when Obamacare (the Patient Protection & Affordable Care Act) is fully implemented. For any Translation related help, visit Translation Agency UK
